MAKING A LONG STORY SHORT(ISH):
Born in Richmond and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Danielle graduated from the University of Victoria with degrees in English Honours (2003) and Law (2004) before attending the London School of Economics, where she obtained a Masters' Degree with Merit in Media and Communications Regulation and Policy.
Danielle has lived in Vancouver, Montreal and London, England, and worked for some of the most prestigious law firms in the world. She has run her own successful boutique practice focused on technology companies and startups, as well as acting a in-house counsel to a number of Vancouver's best-known organizations. She has served as an executive member for the Canadian Bar Association, and regularly publishes and presents on legal topics such as technology, privacy and intellectual property. Danielle has served on many community boards, including as a trustee for Richmond Public Library, and developed curriculum at the University of the Fraser Valley. She currently works for the Province of British Columbia.
While pursuing her law career, Danielle has also thrown herself headlong into a second career in the arts, writing, singing, dancing and acting, and is a Community Arts Coalition Award and Ovation Award nominee/winner for her work as a performer. She has performed on stages around the Lower Mainland.
Danielle is a dedicated member of ARMY, the fandom devoted to Korean band BTS. She is a co-founder of the BTS ARMY Bar Association, a group of lawyers from around the world who create legal educational content for ARMY on topics related to BTS, and served as a director for the Rhizomatic Revolution Review, a multidisciplinary academic journal dedicated to the study of BTS. Her biases are Suga and J-Hope.
Danielle was a devoted slave to her feline life partner of 17.5 years, Curriecat, who passed in July 2023, and remains a besotted auntie and fairy godmother to her nieces and nephews, who range in age from 18 to 6. She is very tired. Always.
