Okay, so I promised my dad I wouldn't go without him, but I was bored on Wednesday afternoon and went to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. I don't think a winter visit should count, though, as I'm sure the place is completely unrecognizable in the spring and summer. The village around Kew is also gorgeous, in a Disneyland kind of way...the kind of England we all have romantic ideas about, with small cute shops and cafes serving cream teas, white stone houses and manicured gardens. It made a nice change from the hubub and grey concrete of London.
