The black and white checks painted on the wall are a familiar site in Palermo. These are the colors of their football club, and every street had painted walls or balconies and alleys festooned with banners and flags supporting the team. Sicilian men must be really confident in their masculinity, as I saw alot of them strutting around Palermo in hot pink football scarves or jerseys.
